I've also bought some past 'sell by' date (so a bit shabby looking) reduced to 50p but they were fine for growing on.JOHN SHORTLAND, Cotswold Hills, England.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11702000270961029986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5723797518858451239.post-64137649296302992262010-07-01T07:59:15.347-07:002010-07-01T07:59:15.347-07:00Thanks, Gina.

Perhaps just taping the joins in the timber would work just as well as lining wit plastic. Worth a try, perhaps!

JohnsonJOHN SHORTLAND, Cotswold Hills, England.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11702000270961029986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5723797518858451239.post-20255254633685502112010-06-30T15:27:05.111-07:002010-06-30T15:27:05.111-07:00What a good idea, I've seen more ready grown v...What a good idea, I've seen more ready grown veg plants in the garden centres this year than I can ever remember, but the cost is prohibitive, £2.50 for half a dozen salad plants, this sounds like a much better bet.cottage garden farmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13655117357492601456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5723797518858451239.post-34932522687741160792010-06-29T16:24:24.979-07:002010-06-29T16:24:24.979-07:00Sorry to post again..but wanted to comment on the ...Sorry to post again..but wanted to comment on the problem we have had with our raised beds lined with plastic..although I can't see a way around doing it otherwise...but the earwigs have been horrible..living and breeding between the wood and the plastic (coming out at night to feast on the plants). Would be pleased to know if you were troubled by insects in your raised beds as above. Perhaps you don't have earwigs in England.Gardeningbrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10709940044197929905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5723797518858451239.post-91506902374679877542010-06-28T08:59:26.802-07:002010-06-28T08:59:26.802-07:00Johnson, what a great idea. I haven't seen greens sold like that with their plugs over here yet (except full grown lettuce) but what a bonus if they did.

The design for your raised beds was just beautiful, and if we built another one, I would copy it...yes I would)))) ..if you don't mind. I love the angles and the one installed by the brick wall, it is perfectly sited. I love the stain color and the plantings. Really really lovely.

Haven't watched ADT yet but will soon.

Nice plating by the way)).Gardeningbrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10709940044197929905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5723797518858451239.post-42007120317524867882010-06-27T20:30:02.468-07:002010-06-27T20:30:02.468-07:00Excellent ideas ! great post, thanks, GinaExcellent ideas ! great post, thanks, GinaAntique ART Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06674268803389194210noreply@blogger.com
